Ian Haffety, the Founder of The Distinctive Drinks Company Ltd, worked at the British Consulate in New York from 1984 – 1990 promoting British food and drinks in the USA.
In 1990 he moved to Tokyo and established DDC (Japan) Ltd, to introduce and promote a more diverse and distinctive range of drinks in Japan.
Ian returned to the UK in 1996 with his Japanese wife and 4 daughters to work more closely with suppliers, and develop new businesses in the Far East.
